Plas Newydd Arts Initiative is Online!

Updated: Mar 8, 2023

I am so very excited to say that this project has a working name, and its very own little corner of the Plas Newydd Farm Website, and we have events on the calendar!

Please check it out, and be forgiving! Word Press and I are not yet best friends, and my web guru may have given me more freedom than he should have (thanks Nathan!) I don’t think I broke anything, but some of the photos aren’t quite where they should be… it’s all to come, I promise!!

We have some great stuff coming over the next few months, from poetry to block prints. It’s all going to be great and I hope to see you there!

We’re kicking things off on the afternoon of Saturday, March 18th with a lesson in Pysanky (the Ukrainian egg dyeing art form) from Ridgefield poet and crafter, Roxanne Bash. There will be tea and snacks and, if I know Roxanne, a bit of poetry sprinkled in. Thanks to Roxanne’s generosity and love of sharing her knowledge, the event fee covers the cost of materials, and we will collecting donations for Ukrainian relief efforts on the day of the event.

Later in March we’ll be hosting poet Christopher Luna, for a study of the Poetics of Place, and I’m not going to tell you any more than that, because I really want you to go visit the website and come learn with us!

We’ve got something set up each month from March through June, but I’m still open to workshop ideas for summer and fall, so if you have something you want to share, please reach out and we’ll see if it’s a good fit. I’m hoping to work in some natural pigment workshops, maybe some basket weaving, plein air painting, more writing, and so many other things!

Anyhow, that’s the news! Excited to share it with you all. I’d love to hea
